Year 9 & 10
This programme is open to Year 9 and 10 students. We actively encourage mixing the year groups. Whilst all students are welcome to participate, the course has been specifically designed for students who struggle in traditional learning environments. There is a maximum of 15 students per session.

gcse set texts
Through workshops and performance, we bring to life GCSE set texts, from Shakespeare's worlds through to modern plays and novels. This includes MacBeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, An INspector Calls, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Participants will deliver a final performace to fellow students, teachers and, if invited by the school, family and friends.

1 term
This programme takes one full term to complete. There are 2 sessions per week, with 2 hours per session.

in school
All sessions take part in school. Because of the physical nature of the work we do, a gymnasium or large space free of desks is preferred. The final performance is to take place in the gymnasium. If preferred, we can arrange for a local theatre to host the final performance for family and fellow students.

building competence and confidence
Participants will study their set text through drama - a re-imagining of the plot, themes and characters. They will work collaboratively to explore the text and bring the words to life. They will work toward a final performance, learning both stage craft and technical skills.

course cost
The total cost of the programme is £3,600. This works out to £10 per student per session.

FROM PAGE TO STAGE
Bring literature to life, from Shakespeare through to modern set texts.
Ideal for GCSE students who struggle to learn in traditional classroom settings.
Because literature comes alive when students do.
From Page to Stage is a dynamic, drama-led experience designed to bring literature to life — from Shakespeare’s worlds to modern GCSE set texts. Instead of simply reading words on a page, students step into the story, embody characters, and explore language through action, movement, and voice. This immersive approach is especially powerful for students who find traditional classroom learning challenging, including those with additional learning needs or who struggle to stay engaged through written analysis alone. By transforming text into lived experience, we unlock curiosity, boost confidence, and help young people connect emotionally and intellectually with the material — making literature not just something to study, but something to feel.
